MicroCosmos : Devouring insects

Since 1994 the photographer Catherine Chalmers photographs nature’s food chain and especially insects, making they way up through the food chain.

For this insect project, Chalmers imagined three differents stages. First, herbivore insects which were fed a tomato.

The second stage pictured a Praying Mantis feeding on caterpillars.

For the third stage, Chalmers decided to feed the Praying Mantis to an Indonesian frog.

After the insects, Chalmers moved on to mamals. Mice and Snakes.
